It has been a long time since I have written.

The last posting had me venturing off into the “wilds” of Upstate New York. Almost three years later, I have re-surfaced with many adventures behind me. Upstate is such a wonderful place, a place of immense natural beauty, of solid and extremely historic architecture and most endearing of all is it’s a place of human resilience, fortitude and just generally great people.

I was so fortunate to receive a gift of Williamsburg Handmade Oil Paints from Karen this year. For those of you who don’t know, Williamsburg Paints were acquired by, and now owned and sold by Golden Paints, upon the untimely death of its founder Carl Planksy .

Ana Cvorovic featured in this year’s submission to the BP Portrait Contest. Ana immigrated to London England at the age of eight- she could not speak the language and left all she knew of her early life behind. Ana's story is compelling and her heroism shines through in how she struggled through the obstacles and displacement of her youth and found in her way in a life far from home.

Although I wasn’t accepted into that show, I was so honored to receive a “Best In Show” when submitted to the Mohawk Valley Art Center’s annual exhibition in Little Falls New York.
